Webhooks are connectors that allow a chatbot to handle data outside of the platform. These connectors can be developed specifically to create complex functionalities in your chatbot. These functionalities can make the chatbot bring significant value to your company and connect to databases or CRMs.

1. What can you do with a Webhook?
Basically, you use Webhooks when you want to build functionalities outside the Clustaar platform.
With a Webhook, you are only limited by your imagination. Here are a few things you can do with them:
- Connect to a database: Your users will be able to look for information.
Example: We worked 20 Minutes on a chatbot that is able to retrieve election results from the French Ministry of the Interior’s databases.
- Scrap your website
Example: If you go the Hachette France’s Facebook Messenger, you will find a Clustaar chatbot. Among other great functionalities, it is able to go and scrap the website for news about Hachette.
- Create push notifications for Messenger
Example: We created a chatbot for the newspaper La Croix that brings information. Users just subscribe to the alerts, and they will receive daily news according to their preferences.
- Enter information into your CRM
Example: The 20 Minutes chatbot was able to collect email addresses and register them into mailing lists.
- Connect to an internal engine: Whether it’s a search engine or results for a form.
Example: For Hachette, we built a recommendation engine. The chatbot asks a few questions, then it looks for the results in an internal database.
2. How to connect your Webhook to the Clustaar Platform
Once you have built your Webhook, go to “Settings”and configure it in the “Webhook” tab.
Then, you must activate it in the necessary Steps in your Stories.
